Generic hardwood habitat — oak, maple, beech, birch, etc. Shown when the species is reported from hardwoods generally.
Small bright-red to cinnabar-orange chanterelle. Intense color makes them easy to spot on forest floor. Same mild apricot flavor as golden chanterelles.
