Striking indigo-BLUE mushroom — cap, gills, and stem all blue. Exudes BLUE latex when cut. Firm crunchy texture; mild sweet flavor. Turns silvery-gray when cooked.
Mixed hardwood and pine forests across eastern and central North America, Mexico, and Central America. Summer through fall.
